Check out the review for the first installment of this series (January) if you haven’t already. There is less content in this second book than the first, though this book refers back to the story in the first book. If the first book is okay for your precocious reader, this second one will likely be just fine.

A teen’s mother and father die in some kind of accident. A teen forges his mom’s signature on a school note. Teen on the run, hides out in abandoned house and in the storm sewer system. Has changed his appearance and sneaks about trying to solve a mystery, steals food. His friend is helping him, though he is a fugitive from the law and friend’s mom doesn’t want him to.
