Book Review: The City of Ember

Synopsis

In the year 241, twelve-year-old Lina trades jobs on Assignment Day to be a messenger, to run to new places in her decaying but beloved city, perhaps even to glimpse Unknown Regions.

Comments

This book is one of my favorites.  Emphasizes idea of working together for the common good. Main characters are strong and noble.  A good book for girls and for precocious readers.
