Synopsis

Gen flaunts his ingenuity as a thief and relishes the adventure which takes him to a remote temple of the gods where he will attempt to steal a precious stone.

Comments

An interesting read, but a little complicated for younger kids in the age range. The age of the protagonist is not clear. There is some language, too.  It is considered a Young Adult book in some places, so this might be good to read aloud. Better for kids 11 and up if they are reading it independently.

Sexual Content

None

Drugs/Alcohol

A grownup is drunk. Mention of a teen frequenting wine shops.

Violence/Disturbing

Swords and guns used to attack and kill people.

Social/Family

Word use: illegitimate. The story is about a thief, and so, he steals stuff. :P

Religion/Spiritual

Stories that stem from Greek gods and goddesses ruling the earth. Comment that people don’t really believe it, it’s `just religion’.
